WHICH TYPE OF SKIRTING BELONGS WHERE?

MDF skirting boards have high wear resistance, are easy to work with and do not warp or split. MDF is also moisture resistant and can be exposed to high humidity for a short time. Keep in mind that MDF can absorb water. In this case, the material swells, but due to gluing the baseboard will not fall apart.

MDF skirting boards are therefore not the best option for damp rooms, such as the bathroom. Make sure that surfaces that come into contact with moisture have been treated with a resistant product or lacquer.

Glued solid skirting boards are very strong and more resistant to humidity. This is why they are preferred for damp rooms. By gluing several layers of wood, you get an extremely stable and strong skirting board. In addition, the primer is also smoother and better finished.
